Article Writing – Adjusting Characters per Line – A Useful Tip

Reformatting your article to 60 or 65 characters per line and the word processor won’t cooperate?  Here’s how.

Let’s assume that you are new to Internet marketing and you choose article writing as your primary means of generating traffic. To make your article pretty you choose some exotic beautiful font, pleasing to the eye.  You prepare your article with great care only to discover when you submit your article that the publisher insists the article be 65 characters per line.

If you have ever tried to adjust the margins and manually count the characters in each line to meet the required 65 characters per line, you have experienced total frustration.  If you use MS Word, most of the fonts are what are called proportional fonts.  Their widths vary with the length of the line.  So no matter how you adjust the margins to the longest line and count out your 65 characters per line, the proportional font characters per line just keep on changing.  It’s a nightmare.

You decide that Internet marketing is for you.  All you have to do, if you’re an affiliate, is sell someone’s product and you are on your way.  Wrong!

How many of us have been flooded by emails announcing the one secret you need to insure your success in Internet marketing?  Or maybe surfing the Internet, you click on links and hit a ‘squeeze page’ or ‘landing page’.  Secrets like keyword mastery, traffic generation, perfecting your writing skills, advertising secrets, indispensable software, and e-books, are just a few.

If you are new to this, you have experienced this.  I have.  As a newbie I am so very tempted to buy them all.  I almost have.  Maybe you have too?  There’s no doubt that there are tools that you have to buy to advance your knowledge.  The question is how many programs, e- books, or videos do you have to buy to learn the secret to success?  Probably a lot fewer than you think.  Continue reading →

Welcome To The Newbie Affiliates Club

This website is aimed at helping us Newbies get started.  It’s a combination of a website, blog, forum format.  You can comment, ask a question, and get a response.  It will be interactive. There will also be informative articles added regularly that will help us stumble less along the way to making money online.  I will promote product but nothing that I haven’t found helpful.  After all, I am an Internet marketer!  As I come across FREE STUFF that I find helpful, I will pass it along.

Like many of you reading this, I’m a very new affiliate marketer working online from home.  I must tell you that I’ve been at this for four months and haven’t made a penny yet!  After twenty plus years in the rat race of corporate America, I retired.  Like you, I had dreamed of owning my own business.  I bought a retail store with my corporate retirement money and for seven years I toiled 24/7 to keep that store running smoothly.  Eventually, I retired from that endeavor.
